I was raised in Laguna Beach and have always felt growing up in such an art friendly community was very sympathetic to young artists. My first such encouragement was winning a First Place in the California Poppy Poster contest in elementary school. Art classes over the next several years furthered my interest and made me realize that art was to be an important part of my life.
After leaving Laguna as a young adult, I moved to Santa Barbara for 25 years, where I raised my children. During that time, I worked in the stock market, but always created my artwork in whatever leisure time available. I've been back in Laguna for the past ten years and am able to devote my full time to art. I am currently preparing for my first year as an artist at the Sawdust Festival.
I am a mixed media artist and get most of my inspiration from nature. I am invigorated by natures' shapes and colors and find most of my motivation comes from those natural surroundings.
